On Thursday, February 6, 2003, The Rolling Stones will perform a free
concert -- the band's first free concert since 1968 -- at the Staples
Center in Los Angeles. The band aims to raise awareness about global
warming and to raise funds for Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC),
one of America's leading environmental advocacy groups.

The benefit show was conceived as a way to put "a worldwide spotlight on
global warming and the opportunities and consumer products that exist right
now to start fixing the problem," said Jon Coifman, spokesman for NRDC.

The event will begin with a 'green'-carpet arrival of celebrities, who will
be transported to the concert by a fleet of 20 gasoline-electric Civic
Hybrids, as well other hybrid vehicles on sale in the U.S. NRDC approached
Honda for assistance in transporting VIP concert guests as a way to
increase awareness of cars on sale today with advanced environmental
technologies, like the Honda Insight and Honda Civic Hybrid, that offer
significant improvements in fuel economy and extremely low levels of
emissions. The 20 Civic Hybrids to be used for the event are being provided
by Scott Robinson Honda of Torrance, Calif.

Expected celebrity riders in Civic Hybrids include Cameron Diaz and
Leonardo DiCaprio, co-chairs of the fundraising gala, Pierce Brosnan, Steve
Martin, Drew Barrymore, Sharon Stone, Sheryl Crow, and Lenny Kravitz, among
others.

The concert will kick off with a special appearance by former President
William J. Clinton, who will address the audience.

In addition to 'green' transportation used for the event, NRDC is making
the concert 'Climate Cool' by purchasing clean power from Vermont-based
NativeEnergy, which will offset every ton of global warming emissions
generated by the event -- from the power in the sound and lights to air and
ground travel for The Rolling Stones and NRDC. Clean power proceeds will
help build a wind farm on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota and
support Northwest wind farms that generate energy without the heat-trapping
pollution that causes global warming.

On Feb. 6, The Rolling Stones will complete the North American leg of their
critically-acclaimed and sold-out 'Licks World Tour,' in support of the
band's new greatest-hits CD complition, '40 Licks.' The concert is the
first free In December 2002, NRDC raffled off 25,000 tickets to fans who
registered for the sweepstakes through NRDC's website. For more
