More Hondas from the 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon

AkiraNSX has submitted another round of pics from the Tokyo Auto Salon along with some more information regarding the Mugen Fit Spec D and Civic Dominator. Special thanks to AkiraNSX for sharing the information and photos.

From AkiraNSX: I guess I don't have to do any translating for the Modulo Concepts. It's all in the Honda world site it seems. http://world.honda.com/news/2006/4060111TokyoAutoSalon/ There are translation errors in the site as well as missing information, so I will list those here. Civic Hybrid Modulo Concept -"louvered intake with variable alignment" in the site refers to the lower front bumper grille area, not the air induction system of the engine. This is a feature for improving aerodynamics by closing off the grille area with the louvers when cooling is not needed to reduce turbulence caused by the air exiting the engine bay. -19" wheels with wheel covers improves fuel economy by reducing turbulence caused by air entering the wheel between its spokes. This also explains the odd designs of the stock Insight and Civic Hybrid wheels. -the site fails to mention LED headlights, taillights and fog lights. As far as I know, those headlights and fog lights are not adequate for lighting up the road for actual driving. They are merely cosmetic (although LED headlight technology has recently arrived and is only waiting for a 2007 law in Japan to pass before they become legal for road use). -the trunk spoiler on this concept car pops up at speed, like the Porsches have had for many years. StepWgn Modulo Concept -the name of the European "apparel brand" that collaborated in designing this concept is Final Home, not Final Form. And here is some official info from MTEC. Amazingly little and not detailed at all. Mugen Fit Spec D (base car: 2006 Japanese spec Fit 1.5S) specs: transmission- 5spd manual overall length- 3.880m overall width- 1.695m overall height- 1.495m wheelbase- 2.450m tread- F1.470m / R1.5m ground clearance- 0.150m curb weight- 1.000kg seats- 5 interior length/width/height- 1.835/1.385/1.280 special equipment: engine/chassis -supercharger -high performance intake -brake cooling duct (replaces the HID fog lights of the Fit Dynamite prototype) -5-slit brake rotors -Sports brake pads -micro-mesh brake lines -dual exhaust system -tires: 205/40R17 -17" spin forged GP wheel: 17x7JJ +48 exterior: -aero hood -front aero bumper (equipment missing from the official equipment list) -wide body (!!! is it possible to miss this one??) -grille molding (chrome plated ABS plastic) -tail gate garnish -wing spoiler Mugen Civic Dominator Concept K20A+supercharger max output: 300ps overall length- 4.570m overall width- 1.795m overall height- 1.400m tires- 225/40R18 transmission- 6spd manual
