June 2002 - Group-A Autosports, Inc. (Norco, CA), manufacturer of Skunk2 Racing performance products has recently been granted CARB (California Air Resource Board) exemption for their H22A (2.2L DOHC VTEC) Stage I VTEC camshafts. This exemption (Exemption Order No. D-537-1) proves that certain high-performance products can be designed to meet the strict emissions standards set forth by the state, while still producing noticeable power gains. Now H22A-performance enthusiasts can feel confident when obtaining smog certifications. The H22A Stage I camshafts join the B-series (1.6L-1.8L DOHC VTEC) Stage I camshafts as being the only CARB-exempted VTEC camshafts on the market.
