We've received word that Honda has sent a memo to their dealers noting severe flooding of the Celaya factory in Mexico. Fortunately it sounds like all Honda associates in Celaya are safe.
However, as a result of this flooding, production of the 2019 Fit and HR-V have been suspended. Honda anticipates a time frame of several weeks to complete a thorough investigation of the damages to the facility. Honda's Guadalajara factory in Mexico has begun production of the 2019 HR-V, but it sounds like only LX and Sport trim levels will be built there, so you won't be able to find the higher trim levels of the 2019 HR-V at dealers for some time.
This flooding will also impact production of the new 2019 Honda Insight, as apparently one of the critical parts in the Insight is produced in Celaya.
We expect to hear official word from Honda at some point tomorrow.
