Mystery Acura seen on "Avengers" set is just a "one-off fictional car" for the film.

In case you missed it, over the holiday weekend a set of images appeared over a number of message boards and blogs. The photos showed a sleek Acura droptop on the movie set of "Avengers" alongside Actor Robert Downey Jr.

After checking with several Acura representatives, we were informed by Chuck Schifsky (Manager, PR) that the car was strictly a one-off fictional vehicle, built exclusively for the "Avengers" movie. In other words, it's not planned for production. We were reminded by another Acura spokesman that while this particular sportscar is fictional, Acura IS currently developing a "real (sports)car".
