Evans Tuning uses DynoPack. Granted it is a different dyno and a particular dyno graph is used for advertising purposes, but for some reason I really doubt that 2011 makes that much power.

One thing that is known for sure that this dyno is much more conservative than Church's overly-optimistic dyno.

For example take a look at his database. 2006 Civic Si with Flashpro, intake and exhaust makes 194whp.

It's always nice to accuse Church's dyno (also a Dynapack) of being "overly optimistic," but if you read the other thread, his 300+ dynos of the 06-10 Si put baseline HP at about the same level. Then, the 2011 he tested rated significantly higher, so it is unlikely due to it being "optimistic" because it was still measureable stronger than the sample population of Si's, which rate about the same as this dyno.

So, in order for this to be some kind of conclusive dyno, or some sort of proof that Church's dyno is optimistic, we would have to know 1) how the average 06-10 dyno came out on this very same dyno (were they equal or weaker?) and what corrections were being applied.

I am not opposed to the idea that Church's dyno might be optimistic (I have heard that a lot), but without some kind of supporting data, it is merely speculation and hearsay. It might be an easy fallback when people see HP results they don't like, but it also still does not explain why the 2011 tested was much stronger than the 06-10's he has tested. If they dyno is in fact optimistic, then it would be equally optimistic in both cases, and wouldn't give the 2011 some unfair advantage. It also doesn't explain why Jeff's dyno was also optimistic by the same margin from 3000 miles away on a dynojet that doesn't seem to be out of line.

Wrong. Evan's dyno reads low. A Dynapack should always read higher than a Dynojet. Always. It is simple physics. Removing wheels and tires frees up power. Approximately half the losses from crank to contact patch are caught up in wheel/tire inertia, and rolling resistance. Dynojets have been proven to accurately represent wheel hp in detailed analyses by 3rd party sources. There is no way that a Dynapack should read lower.

Nonetheless. We're talking delta's here. Jeff saw a 11 hp delta on a Dynojet. I saw a 14 hp delta on a Dynapack. What does a 2006-2010 Civic Si read on Evan's dyno? Even if you mistakenly continue to believe the rumors spread by certain competitors that my dyno is "optimistic", is it only optimistic on the 2011?

This is why I also posted 194whp dyno of Civic Si with intake, exhaust and tuned by Flashpro. So it is easy to assume that 2006 Civic would make around 180whp stock.

I think if 2011 Si's were indeed stronger, we would have a lot of posts from places like 8thcivic.com with dynos proving that.

No, that is not a logical conclusion.

First of all, on the 06 plot, you'll note that the baseline car was with intake and exhaust. Now, the Greddy exhaust isn't the greatest, but it does flow more than stock. I also happen to know that Injen claims almost 9 hp alone just for the intake. Thus, using the very same information you posted, one could draw the conclusion that the 06 car was producing less than 180 hp stock. But you shouldn't do that either, because it wasn't stock, and you'd still be guessing.

AFAICT, there haven't been many 2011's dyno'd yet. I've done one, Jeff has done one, and Evan's, which is one of the bigger dyno shops on the East Coast (they have an excellent reputation) only has one as well.

Give it time. We'll see if there is a difference. I remember the F22C in the S2000. That took a year or more before people began to seriously acknowledge more power.

BTW, when I say Evan's dyno reads low, I am not criticizing. I don't care whether a Civic shows 100 hp stock, or 200 hp stock on a dyno as long as it is consistent. Jeff's dyno appears very consistent, as virtually all Dynapacks are. And Jeff's tuning speaks for itself.
