Just found out from ScienceofSpeed's IG page that they are releasing a new JB4 Tuning Box for the 2017 NSX:
https://www.scienceofspeed.com/index.php/nsx-2017-on/scienceofspeed-jb4-tuning-box-nsx-2017-on.html

The gain is between 40-100hp at the wheels over stock. With downpipes, the max gain is about 120whp on 98 octane.

Essentially it's like having 700+hp at the crank at the most for now. The more representative gain is the one with 93 octane fuel and downpipes, making 560whp vs 475whp stock. Still a solid 85whp gain.

I think I will go for this one instead of the Vivid Racing one. It's cheaper too at $1300.

This is the most interesting part from ScienceofSpeed:

Once power was confirmed on ScienceofSpeed's Superflow Chassis dynamometer, street logging was conducted, showing more than a half-second reduction in acceleration time in third gear. Later, the customer was able to test the NSX in a timed quarter mile drag race where nearly a half second was reduced with not-ideal traction conditions. Most importantly - the trap speed was the highest ever posted for a NSX at 132 MPH.

If you're going to have to buy a piggyback (not my favorite, but sometimes you have no choice) then JB is probably the best one to go with in terms of quality, performance and service.

Shame that no one has gotten into the ECU properly yet. Comparing the 91 octane dp only vs. dp and JB4 I'm seeing about 40-50 hp. That's not bad but you know there is a ton more in there. For comparison we get about 90-100 hp on 91 octane just from a reflash on a McLaren with no hardware changes. Given how mildly tuned the NSX IC engine is from the factory, I'd guess there's another 50 hp lurking in there even on 91 octane.

Yea I guess it's kinda bad that not many people buy the NSX, and so there's very little support for it. For McLaren, I believe pretty much all.of them use the same 3.8l V8 with different parts/tunes for the past several years. That probably helps a bit with the support and development.

Based on the article it seems that having higher octane helps a lot. With 94 octane readily available in my area,I'm guessing I can go with the 93 octane graph, which. I would be happy with I think...For the time being hahaha... Can't say no to more power!

Do you have a 2017+ NSX?

Excellent news Hondarulez [I must have missed it if you had already announced it!].

With the pricing Honda has chosen for Australia the MkII is but a pipe-dream for us mere mortals.....

I think I got a decent deal as it has less than 3000km on the clock while being quite a bit cheaper than the msrp. But who knows what the depreciation will be like going forward...Lol. oh well, I have always wanted a nsx since over two decades ago and finally got one!

Like I said, I will drive it when the winter is finally over. Being I'm Vancouver, Canada, it seems like the weather is getting better now so may be I don't have to wait long.

I did drive it from the dealer back to my place when I first got it.

It's actually very easy to drive and very comfortable, almost as comfortable as my Rdx in quiet or sport mode. It's quite interesting how the engine would shut off when you are just driving in the city. I didn't realize this until I looked at the tachometer. The engine start stop is not noticeable at all unless I purposely wait for it to happen.

It was a bit chilly so I only spent a little bit of time in sport plus mode. It's way more responsive and hello fast. I actually had the back end step out on the hwy on ramp as I floored it to see what.it could do. Lol I should have known better to not do silly things like that on summer tires when it's just above the freezing point.

The car came with the mediocre continental sport contact 5p. I just ordered a set of rims and a set of wider sport cup 2. Hopefully they will get here before my track day in late April.

I will give you guys more feedback when I get more time behind the wheel!

Congrats on the NSX. What color combo is it, what wheels did you get. Post up some pics.

Thanks man!

It's the Casino White with black interior. Here it is side by side with my FK8:

I ordered some BCForged RT51. They are 19x9 and 20x12. It will take like 5-6 weeks before they are delivered. Here's an example photo:

I'm just surprised at how compliant the ride is on the street. I drove it in Las Vegas on a track before but since most race tracks are butter smooth, it's hard to tell how comfortable a car is. But having driven the NSX in the city for 45min, I got a good feel for it and the ride comfort is pretty darn good. It's understandable what Honda meant when they said it's an everyday supercar. Compared to my friend's AMG GT S, it's a huge difference in that aspect. Even in the softest setting, the AMG GT S has a much firmer ride that would make my FK8 feels like a luxury sedan.

Congratulation Hondarulez on your purchase of the NSX - together with your CTR, both white (great choice of colour), you have the best two current sports cars Honda makes! I did not want to say 'in Honda's history' because some would dispute that! ;-)

Beautiful car and the weather here in Vancouver has been great lately! Lots of sunshine - I saw a ton of "fun" cars and motorcycles out this weekend.

The local Porsche shop in Langley had a used white NSX for sale. Did you buy from them, by any chance?

Thank you guys! I'm very excited as Honda finally came good and that I'm lucky enough to be driving two of the most exciting Honda's of this generation.

JonBoy, the weather is sure nice these several days! I'm in the local S2k chat group and FK8 chat group and people have already swapped over to their summer tires lol even though it's below the freezing point at night haha! I actually just had a look at the weather forecast and there's a slight chance of snow on Friday. There's still quite a bit of road salt so I guess I just have to be patient. It's supposed to be much warmer in a couple weeks.

I know exactly which NSX you are talking about, but it's not that one. Actually I just googled and mine is still listed on Craigslist:

I will just link the pictures here haha!

Very nice car! Congratulations. White looks great. The first new NSX I saw was in white and I loved it. We've had two NSXs (my dad did, that is), both originals, and I have always had a soft spot for them. I'd love a new one but there's no way I can pay that kind of money for a car.

I only moved to Vancouver a little over two years ago and sold all my sports cars beforehand. I had a Z4 M Coupe and a 2008 S2000 back in Alberta but didn't bring them with me (had two other vehicles we "had" to bring). Still looking for my next sportscar...or maybe my first sport sedan (looking at Jags, for the first time - XK-R or maybe an XF-R).

Nice NSX. I'm struggling with what I'd get, the white or the new orange. All my performance Hondas have been white. How's the daily comfort with the NSX?

I would love another AP2 but the prices are ridiculous. I sold mine (2008, 30K kms) for $30K and that car, today, would easily be $40K, especially since it was Grand Prix White with red/black interior (very rare and very pretty).

We shall see! My heart goes toward another S2000 but I also would love to try something new (ie, a different car, not necessarily a brand new car).

Lol the car!

The new orange looks really sharp. I actually order some vinyl wrap ...gotta wrap my car in white. Hahaha.

I have only spent 45min in the car mostly city driving. The ride comfort is very good in quiet and sport mode. I would say it's even more comfortable than my ctr in comfort mode.
