Fail on both. Why doesn't Honda use their own 10AT?

And why less towing than the Ridgeline and Pilot?

Sorry about that... it is 5000 with a towing package, but not standard.

It's 3500 with FWD and 5000 with AWD just like the Pilot.

Trying to think, is there a place in the world that 10AT is used with the J-series? Perhaps it doesn't mate up? Perhaps there are tooling costs associated with changing? Perhaps there are contractual obligations to ZF?

2018+ Odyssey Touring and Elite has the J-series with the 10AT. There is no application of the J-series with 10AT and AWD.

The 6speed transmission that is on the ridgeline would have made more sense that the dreadful 9 speeds. The pilot looks like honda using its recycle bin by taking the front from the rdx ,engine ,transmission and from the back to the tailgate from te pilot

Nine speed has been tamed. In fact Honda is making use of the 9 speed in its diesel variant of the CRV overseas.

9AT has been updated with internal material upgrades and additional software. Its going in the Ridgeline soon.

I drove a 2018 Pilot last months for 4hrs , the transmission is refined a little but there still a delay around 35 to 45 mph ,it feels like the engine is momentary disconnect with the tranny upshifting and vibrating when downshifting. I won't buy any Honda/Acura with the ZF 9 speeds . If it manufactured by Honda yes I'll buy it ,by the German ZF manufacturer ,hell no . I think that they purposely built the faulty transmission to show the world that Honda's vehicles aren't reliable. I leased German vehicles, knowing than afer 3 years I will take their junk back to them , i usually buy Hondas

Tinfoil hats aside, Honda engines (and electronics for that matter) also contain German parts.

2019 Pilot with the refresh is much better. Stop driving '18's and test a '19.
