1. Yeah, let's bring back the great memories of all the loyal non-enthusiast Honda buyers who went to the Honda dealer thinking they were buying a gin-yoo-ine Soichiro product and got duped into an agricultural Isuzu Rodeo made with GM parts!

2. It's 2018 (well, '19 soon). Cue the immigration jokes.

3. Honda Crossroad is a much better name for this.

Exactly. It's like Chrysler and the Pacifica name. Really who cares as long as the vehicle is adequate.

And if Honda resurrects the S2000, that would be an awful name as well right? SMH!

Oh, btw, in case you haven't noticed, the Insight is back and it's the best Hybrid you can buy for the money.

The S2000 comparison makes no sense. That car was universally praised so it has strong positive name recognition.

The Insight name I can agree with, to a point. The second generation Insight (which I own) was a pretty big failure for Honda. Of course it sold in small enough numbers that a large chunk of the buying public probably are unaware that it even existed. When it comes to the Insight name I think that most people picture the first generation which was and in many ways still is, a technical marvel. Tying the (really impressive) current model to the Insight name is not a bad idea.

The Passport name was never attached to anything worthwhile. A ho hum rebadged Isuzu is not a strong starting point. Of course that SUV has been gone for a long time and I doubt if many people even remember it. I don't think that the Passport name will have any impact on this new model.

I am surprised Honda did this however, not many people, if any, take their CRV's or Pilot's off road. The Passport will have an off-road focus while still proving to be a comfortable everyday SUV. Hopefully the pricing won't be too far out of reach for buyers.

Names are so 1950's...Honda needs to drop names and use letters/numbers. Or better yet, symbols..."the formerly known as Passport" edition can use #.

Should Ford bring the Pinto back? Or how about GM bringing the Citation back? It's obvious you don't know anything about business and marketing. Don't use a tarnished name on a new vehicle.

Non-sequitur. Speaking of naming fails, was fatdumbbloke taken when you registered here? Would be more accurate.

While the previous two responses were pretty stupid, your ghastly attempt at reading comprehension takes the cake by reversing my analogy. Unlike the Passport, the S2000 was a universally praised car and one of the best Hondas of all time. The first Insight was a pioneering vehicle whose legacy wasn't tarnished by the unrelated second-generation which people generally understood was an moonshot to carry on the positive reputation of that car.

They will, because Honda will included it in their advertising. Everyone Iíve told recently remembers the old Passport as it was Hondaís FIRST SUV in Ď94, until the Pilot was introduced.

Ha ha - love it when someone has to get personal, you have a lovely character. Are you short 😂 People can have there opinion but must remember you're always right. It's clear for everybody to see what kind of person you are. One things for sure, you obviously fell deeply in love with yourself at a very early age, and have remained faithful ever since. (especially to your right hand)

The Passport moniker has more name recognition to the masses
I owned two Rodeoís , the Passportís twin.
They were actually decent and trouble free.
Everyone would ask about my Passport, not even knowing what a Rodeo was.

I welcome back the Passport moniker!
