Had the wife try out a 2019 Insight (EX) the other day. (By the way she loved it, thinking this is going to be her next car, coming out of 09 Accord EX). Did notice something odd while we were there, when pressing the fuel door release button, there's a gauge that shows up on the dash LED display and a delay for opening the fuel door. The next time you press the release button after that it pops open right away. Tested it out on another Insight to see if it was unique to that car, a Touring that hadn't been driven, but exact same thing. Any idea what that's about?

I wonder if it had a pressurised fuel tank like the Clarity/BMW i3/Chevy Volt to preserve the gas.

The delay is really brief. If the car has been sitting for awhile it's almost instantaneous.

Today I filled it up (224 miles on just under 5 gallons) and it released within roughly 1 second of pressing the fuel release button. I would have assumed it had a capless filler like all other Hondas until I saw this thread. I wonder how much fuel is saved by this system.

I wonder if Andrew would blow up this car.... you know... He who fills up the tank in his iMMD Accord until it overflows - all in the search for the 1000 miles per tank goal.
