2018 Type R:

Updated (2019) Type R:

The only real noticeable change I can see up front is the small openings on the front splitter. It does look like the faux openings front and rear are reworked...perhaps opened up a bit more or god forbid, larger?

I'm torn on the smaller, rear-spoiler of the red Type R. It looks better to me, but kinda takes away from that noticeable Type R look of the existing, tall, rear-spoiler...good or bad.

The slots in the splitter are present on the current model. They're brake cooling ducts.

Thanks, I didn't see those before, but clearly there on the existing model.

It's difficult to see them because the faux CF splitter is dark and they're tucked back in the shadowy recess that's formed between the splitter and the chin of the bumper

Is there reason to believe the revised honeycomb areas will be plug and play for those of us who want to update/change the look of our 17's & 18's? I see no structural changes on the surrounding main bumper areas.

As much as they talked up the aero bits on the car till now, (specifically the rear spoiler) I cant comprehend how they plan to market a type r "with less aero downforce."

Waste of money and engineering resources (unless of course there's something else under the hood).
They should have toned it down a bit if already spending time on exterior changes.
