Hello!
I have a 1999 awd crv that has some tranny issues!
Check engine light came on and the codes are p0700
P0740 and P0706.

Crv shifts fine for the most part but does act up on occasions.
Can someone please help me? I just bought this crv and dont know a thing about transmissions.
I have heard input and output sensors or torque converter solenoid. I called an auto parts store and they werent any help!

Thanks!

So it seems you bought the car with no codes stored and no lights but then now the CEL in on and you have the stored codes. You said the transmission acts up at times. Is it usually shift related at highway speeds or does it cut in and out somehow? Does everything seem to operate correctly otherwise?

The first code could have been triggered by the other two but getting the torque converter lockup operation and shift position fault codes together seems odd. Before spending any money, I think I'd check for a loose harness connection or a damaged harness under the hood and under the car.

The linked page for the torque converter fault suggests changing the transmission fluid. It seems like a good idea and it's maybe the first step on the money journey.

Thanks for the info! It doesnt act up at highway speeds at all. Just randomly takes a while to shift out of second to third. It has clunked downshifting twice in about 200 miles.
Otherwise it shifts fine!
Yes i bought the car with no codes. After owning it for 2 days the engine light came on!

I appreciate the information. Im a bit frustrated!

Dana
