What percentage of Nissan's sales are fleet sales? I know it's large, but I don't have any concept of how large.

That number includes the Rogue Sport which competes with the HR-V instead of the CR-V. Let's say if Nissan was able to sell 10k Rogue Sport last month, Rogue only outsold CR-V by less than 300 units with heavy incentives and from fleet sales. Honda did it with neither. So really that number isn't really impressive at all...

Toyota is also stealing some sales too due to heavy incentives and from fleet sales, and most importantly the offering of the 2yr/25,000mi ToyotaCare No Cost Maintenance plan.

I feel like both Toyota and Nissan are literally giving their cars away...

I can verify that they aren't literally giving them away when I look at my lease payment to Nissan every month.

I would take with a grain of salt. Nissan dumps these things to the rental car agencies. I can tell you after having rented one and driving for 400miles there is no way in hell I would ever consider owning it. I have never driven a more fidgety car (in that it wanders all over the road). Gas mileage was only mediocre too. I would take a CRV 1st all day long and probably a RAV4 2nd.

None, yr post caught my attn. I was wondering how VW is doing these days. Actually, VW's monthly sales report doesn't look too bad (relatively speaking of course): https://media.vw.com/en-us/releases/859
VW apparently considers the Golf a separate vehicle (i.e., the least expensive model) of which 1035 were sold.
GTI's 2010
R's (which, inexplicably, were being held unsold for months) 521
Sportwagen 2461
