... and we North Americans have to suffer for it.

Couldn't they just use Japanese/American chassis, refine it to euro standards and just call it a day?

Here's the proper civic that totally deserves the CTR turbo powertrain.

god i love that slightly murdered-out rear lighting treatment on '13 civics

It's too bloody long, for a start.

However, I think a hatch version might have been a better proposition in the end.

Why didn't they create a hatch or wagon version of the normal Civic? They already build the CR-V in Swindon, so it's not like Honda is saving any on platform costs.

Unless if the 8G/9G NA Civic was simply far too large to even consider in Europe? Then again, up until this year, the NA Civic hybrid sedan was still sold in Europe.

-----------------
Looking at the numbers, the 7G and 8G Civic sedans weren't more than an inch or two off of one each other in length and width. Now I definitely don't know why Honda decided on this two car plan. Unless if the 7G was already too big? However, the 6G is practically the same in terms of dimensions as the 7G, as was the 5G. The hatchback grew in size, yes, however, so did the rest of the market. That wouldn't even rival the size of the wagon variants of the Golf, or the Focus. Unless if Europe has vehicle size taxes, as well?

thats actually quite good. I would say just a bit more of a deck lid to balance the rear and that'd be about perfect. I like this, but I'd still rather have the Jade.

I like the Jade too, but there should be a sedan, longish wagon, and short hatch.
