Changing the HVAC Filter on 7th Gen. Accords
Special thanks to TOV Member "Trip" for providing these instructions.
  1. Empty glove box.
  2. Open glove box and locate the damper arm on the right hand side towards the passenger door. The damper arm holds onto the glove box door with a simple "C" arm shaped fixture. With a firm push backwards (towards the dash), disconnect the damper arm.

  3. Reach up into the dash board towards the top back corners of the glove box. With your fingers, pull the edges of the plastic inwards toward the glove box so the stoppers clear the dash board and allow the glove box to tip all the way down. The below picture shows the right hand side. Do the left hand side at the same time.

  4. With the glove box out of the way, the "drawer" containing the HVAC pollen/dust filter is easily accessible. The stopper is circled in blue. The blue arrow indicates how you push the plastic trim in step #3 so the stoppers clear the dash board.

  5. There is a tension clip on each side of the drawer (circled in yellow). Press them inwards towards the drawer and slide the drawer out towards you.

  6. Be careful! There can be a considerable amount of grime and loose debris built up on the filter! Here is the new filter and the old filter side by side.

  7. The paper filter element can be discarded and replaced with the new one. When setting the new filter into the drawer, note that there are arrows indicating air flow direction. Be sure the filter goes into the drawer so that they face the same side as the arrows on the drawer and match the direction. The arrows on the drawer didn't show up well in this photo but they are there and easy to see!

  8. After the new filter is in place, slide the drawer back into the dash and be sure it "clicks" into place.
  9. Raise the glove box door and remember to pull the top ends inwards again so the stops clear the dash board.
  10. Connect the damper arm by clicking it into place.
