Integra Tokico Shocks Review

Tokico Illumina

From: Don Bredle
Well, I started out at 2 front, 4 rear for the street, and 4 front, 5 rear for track and autocross. The Illuminas are so tall that they bottom out all the time on road bumps (if the car is lowered 1-2 inches). So now I leave them at 4 and 5 all the time to try to eliminate the bottoming out and crunching of the suspension. I'm not real happy with the Illuminas on a lowered GS-R!

From: David Lewis (racer.x@ccfnet.com)
I personally use the Tokico Illumina shocks, and I highly recommend them. I ran them on 3 race cars total, (a 89 Civic, a 91 CRX Si, and my 95 Integra GS-R) and I've never had a problem with them. They're great for auto-xing, because they are very easy to adjust if your car just won't handle like you want it to. I like the 5 different settings, and I'm personally running them on 4 front, 5 rear for racing, and 3 front, 5 rear for street. The shocks are also lifetime, so if one or two start going soft, just send them back and they will be replaced for free. (as long as Tokico doesn't know they've been raced on) I know of people who have used Koni and Tokico, and they prefer the Tokico.

Tokico HP

From: Thomas A. Steahr
I have only had one experience with with a different shock/spring setup. That was with Eibach Pro-kit springs (1" drop) and Tokiko blue non-adjustable shocks on my previous 91 Integra. With this setup the Damping ratios went down a little and the ride got a little bouncier. Not really bad, but you could notice a little more oscillation.
