RSX-S Wins C&D May 2002 Sports Coupe Comparo

The RSX type S won Car and Driver's May 2002 Sports Coupe Comparison. It beat out the Celica GT-S (2nd, tie), Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS (2nd, tie), Hyundai Tiburon GT (4th), and VW New Beetle Turbo S (5th). It won by a healthy margin. The criteria (standard for C&D) are Engine, Transmission, Brakes, Comfort, Handling, Ride, Ergonomics, Features, fit/finish, styling, value, FUN FACTOR. The RSX took tops in Engine, Tranny, Brakes (tie with Celica), Handling (tie with Celica), Comfort (tie with Beetle), Ergonomics, Fit/Finish (tie with Beetle), Styling (tie with Celica), and Value. That's all but features/amenities!
The resulting scores:
RSX-S: 93
Celica: 86
Eclipse: 86
Tibby: 85
Beetle: 82
Not even close...
