We're in Indy this weekend for the US Formula One Grand Prix. Even though Honda F1 has been struggling a bit this season, we're here to support them. This is my first time at Indy (past USGPs have conflicted with my schedule) so I'm not sure how much photography and video I'll be able to get, but I'll share whatever I can. We're lodging about 25 miles away from the track so updates will be sparse. Hopefully I'll have time to post some stuff tonight and Saturday after qualifying. We're heading straight for the freeway on Sunday following the race, so don't be surprised if there are no updates on Sunday night.
Special thanks to TOV members 'soniccar' and 'CRH' for donating their tickets.
UPDATE: 30.Jun 18:37
As everybody probably knows, Ant ruled both practice sessions today. Let's hope HF1 is saving some of that speed for Rubens and Jenson tomorrow. Here are a few pics from today. I apologize that the quality of these is pretty cruddy, but that's the best I could do from our infield position. We arrived at the track a little late and session 2 was about to begin, so I didn't want to miss anything by trying to walk around looking for a good spot, so I shot from over in Turns 4 and 7. There aren't any really "clean" areas up close to the cars, so many of these pics are cropped down.
VIDEO CLIP
There's not much to this short clip, but if you like hearing F1 motors screaming at nearly 20000 rpms, then you might find this 5.0MB download worth your time. The footage was shot during the second practice today.
