Brenda Priddy's crew just sent us several images of the '06 Pilot undergoing routine testing in the desert. As we told you many months ago, the '06 Pilot is due for its MMC (Mid-cycle Model Change, or Minor Model Change) this year and we also told you that it will be receiving beefed up front end styling, meant to increase the Pilot's family resemblance to the 2006 Ridgeline. And as you can see from this shot, the '06 Pilot has received a new front clip, complete with headlights that echo the shape of the Ridgelines, but the units shown here appear to have projectors for the low-beams. You may also notice that side marker lamps appear to be affixed to the fenders, though these may simply be part of a disguise.
There is also a rear shot of the '06 Pilot, but it shows little to no change from the 2005 model, so we passed on the opportunity to purchase it. There was also a shot of what may have been a 2007 Acura RDX undergoing testing, but it was heavily clad in camouflage so there was really nothing to see, and again we passed on that photo. While we're talking about the RDX, there is one piece of info that may be of interest, and this is regarding the on-again, off-again rumors of turbo power. The latest buzz is that supposedly Honda has worked through the NVH and reliability issues that they reportedly faced earlier and are once again preparing a turbocharged motor for the RDX.
While we passed on the '07 RDX photo and the rear shot of the '06 Pilot, the RDX photos and another shot of the Pilot can be seen elsewhere on the web:
