Torrance, Calif. 08/07/2003 -- Enhancements to include:

Expanded availability of side curtain airbags
Addition of XM satellite radio as standard equipment
Expanded availability of ultra-clean PZEV models to select Northeastern states
The 2004 Accord Sedan goes on sale today with prices for the sedan line-up increasing an average of just 1.31 percent or $358 on a sales weighted basis, American Honda Motor Co., Inc, announced today. This is the first price increase since the Accord's introduction as an all-new model in September, 2002.

New features for 2004 models include supplemental restraint system (SRS) side curtain airbags as standard equipment on 4-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior and as a factory-installed option on EX models with A cloth interior. All 4- and 6-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior will now feature XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment.

"This is another example of Honda's commitment to delivering real, long-term, value to its customers through added features and continuous product improvements," said Tom Elliott, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

Continuing its legacy of environmental leadership, Honda will also expand sales of Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards - all 4-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission - to the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

2004 Accord prices start at $15,900 for the DX Sedan, an increase of $100 or 0.63 percent. The best-selling Accord model, the 4-cylinder LX Sedan with 5-speed automatic transmission, is priced at $20,100, an increase of just $100 or 0.5 percent.

The Accord V6 LX Sedan, the best-selling V6-powered model, carries a manufacturers suggested retail price of $23,300, an increase of $300 or 1.3 percent. The EX Sedan 4-cylinder model starts at $21,700, an increase of $100 or 0.46 percent. EX Sedan V-6 models with standard leather interior are priced at $26,400, an increase of $600 or 2.3 percent.

All Accord models feature a long list of standard features including dual stage, dual threshold front airbags, anti-lock brakes, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, AM/FM stereo with CD Player, power windows, LED instrumentation and advanced emissions technology.

All EX models add a 6-disc CD changer, 16-inch alloy wheels, power moonroof and power driver's seat with adjustable lumbar support. EX-V6 models feature standard side-curtain airbags, Traction Control System and leather-trimmed seats. Additionally, all EX models with leather interior can be equipped with the Honda Voice Activated Satellite-Linked Navigation System.

Destination and handling charges remain unchanged at $460 for all vehicles. For a complete list of 2004 Accord prices, specifications and photography, visit www.hondanews.com. For consumer information, please visit Hondacars.com
