We've already seen MDX test mules circulating the Nürburgring and the surrounding German countryside, but American spy photographers captured exposures of a 2014 MDX test mule undergoing stress testing in the desert yesterday. Below is the text and 5 photos from KGP.

Acura engineers ventured to the heat of the California desert to test a prototype for the 2014 MDX. The 120-degree heat encouraged the removal of some of the MDX's front camouflage, giving us our clearest look yet at its grille, and lower air-intake. The new grille looks very similar to the grille-work spotted on prototypes for Acura's all-new RLX. Our latest shots of the MDX give us a new sense what appears to be a more arched, flowing greenhouse. While there are still some sharp-edged elements visible through the camouflage, we suspect that the new MDX may have a bit more fluidity to its shape. —KGP
