Let's look at what MUGENs done so far:
Concepts:
260ps K20A Fit Dynamite
490ps Le Mans 4.0l V8 Legend Max
145ps Super Charger Fit Spec-D
300ps Super Charger Civic Dominator
154ps F154sc Super Charger Fit Concept
260ps MUGEN RR Civic Experimental Spec
NSX MUGEN RR
Super Charger Accord MUGEN 24sc
260ps Civic MUGEN RR Advanced Concept
Production:
240ps Civic MUGEN RR
240ps Civic MUGEN RR Euro
Aside from the NSX and the Le Mans Legend that would never have been considered for production even by us enthusiasts, none of the other cars were ever produced. Aside from the K20 Fit, all the others were supercharged, like the CR-Z we see here.
The only cars they ever produced were both examples of "perfecting perfection" through what they learned from building Civic race cars.
As much as I want to see a production supercharged CR-Z, not a single part of me thinks that will ever happen. I hope they prove me wrong.

Yeah. I figure this is a "one-off" or "proof of concept."

Mugen quite emphatically said as much at the time it was first announced!
No news here - move on!

Even if they did make it a production model imagine how expensive it would be.
The Mugen Civic Si from a few years ago had no power boost at all and was little more than a body kit. It cost over $30k!

The Mugen si was about $8,000 over stock. It really wasn't that bad of a price. If you paid retail for the stuff that is...
-Well over $2k for the Mugen wheels with tires
-Around $1.3k for the Mugen sport suspension
-Around $2.4k for the aero kit and wing
-Around $1k for the exhaust
-Plus smaller things like front grill insert, shift knob, and badging
-Everything covered under a full factory waranty
You would be up to the same price with the HFP kit, or if you did it over time with after market parts. There may be no improvement in power, but you do get a faster car. The suspension, and tires are much better than stock. I don't know of any dynos being done on the Mugen, but the exhaust probably does give a couple hp. So nothing about the Mugen was a bad deal, things like the S2K CR were just a great bargain.

Yea..that's true. I guess it depends on how you see it.
Aftermarket parts are never cheap, especially from brands like Mugen and Spoon.
