Having own both vehicle(currenty driving a 6 Speed 2010 TSX), Im wondering if the Si having an LSD and the TSX not having one makes a difference in the power that's being laid down. I know with a high powered car it would definitely affect power delivery, so its possible that in this case it could make a difference as well.

It's my understanding that if anything would be impacted, the LSD would actually sap a little bit of power.

Jeff, do you have any idea if 9th Si will carry an LSD or not. Or is it up in the air at this point.

the only thing that could shove another half of TOV's population off of a precipice would be introducing the 2012 Si WITHOUT an LSD, so I pray to the heavens that Honda's not that dumb.

I have no inside info but my money is on it not having one. Accord doesn't and it has way more power and power to weight and room in the budget. VSA is so much cheaper - maybe they will label it an electronic LSD just like VW and others. Software is free, metal parts are not.

Software can't accomplish what metal can either. Anyone who has driven an actual LSD in a FWD car KNOWS that braking the spinning wheel does NOT work the same.
If Honda DOES do that, then this car is 100% absolutely out of consideration. The mechanical LSD is about the only mechanical reason I am still willing to consider it.
Although, I swear one of the news items on here confirmed a helical LSD. I remember being relieved about the fact that they weren't 100% disconnected from what we wanted.

Just saying if i had to put money on it having or not having my money is on not. Hopefully I am wrong. My Golf has an ``electronic diff`` and it is rubbish compared to an LSD. My Land Rover has a proper LSD - I installed it - but for a very different reason! But for off road use too LSDs are better than the brakes grabbing.

These guys seem to think it'll have one.

Trust me, I owned a 2009 Accord V6 6MT without the LSD, and did not enjoy it.
