I'm thinking of buying a 2002 S2000 and wondered if this engine had a timing belt or chain? And if it's a belt, what is the change interval?
Thanks

The 'F series' of engines, F20C & F22C all used timing chains.

While they were designated "F", I don't know if I'd go so far as to refer to those two as part of the series as they were considerably different than the other F's that all had belts, but that's just me...

Thanks, guys. I am going to try to see it tonight. The car apparently has been modified a bit--hopefully not too much

If you want a non-modified car, hold out. There are plenty of non-mod'd S2000s out there. A lot of people bought them as weekend cars and just stuck them in the garage for sunny days.
Low mileage, non-abused, etc.
