I was going to post this yesterday in another thread, but deleted it :)
To me it would be unwise for Honda NOT to pursue pure EVs, at the very least from a basic research point of view.
With battery tecnology advancing ever more quickly, who knows where the technology will be in a few short years? It may well become possible to have appropriate range, charge life and time all at a reasonable cost in the not too distant future.
There is the added incentive that EV's will be able to use existing infrastructure [albeit that infrastructure will need to be up-graded] to power these vehicles, instead of developing new infrastructure to deliver hydrogen fuel.
It would be sad if one of the most engineering orientated companies were to become blinkered in their forward thinking? I can't see that happening, therefore I'm not surprised that they are willing to invest in EVs to the benefit of all our futures.

Well good to see that they are considering them now. Of course it would be wise to see how the first ones to market do before investing too much into that path.
Nice rooms, get info on the new CRZ and see if you can get a US release date or specs!

This article is concerning launching an electric vehicle, not researching them. This indicates they already have everything in place to create an EV. I have no doubt that they have been pursuing and researching EVs all along and have at least as much knowledge as every other company.

Like when Honda launched the Honda EV in the 1990s.

Peoples memories are so short and selective. BTW: Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars are nothing more than Electric Vehicles that haul around their own source of electricity, SO, most things learned by developing short range Plug in EVs or even Plug in Hybrid (with other means of propulsion ie: GM Volt) EVs, can be applied to Hondas goal of Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered vehicles.
I still presonally beilieve Hydrogen is the way to go, but we are a long way from getting there and Plug in EVs are going to be one of many stepping stones to get there.
