and why does the fit engine and mount kit cost as much as a fit? The stock engine as a replacement part, with transmission, is under $4k right?!

Ahh, FF = Formula Ford. an odd class name for Honda to support. Maybe an FH namechange is due?

Still, I can't believe how expensive that motor combination is, especially when they are listing it as restricted- maybe even less power than stock?

Give us a $4-5k econo-track-swap-in-engine and it's more on par with the actual cost of the engine. it's not like they made a carbon/titanium transmission for it! Although, that would be one of the coolest things I've ever seen done to an L15...

I'm confused to the wording. Does this cost include the vehicle body also or just the engine and other bits mentioned?

IT does not include the car. The car is a Swift without an engine. The cost of this engine for an open wheel racer, let alone the lowered maintenance costs, should make it very popular.

Remember, this is a race engine, designed to be run to the red line at every shift. At a place like Road America, it would be running within 10% of the rev limit at least 60% of the time.

An unmodified road car engine would not last more than a couple of weekends, with the possible exception of an F20 or F22 (S2000).

If anyone out there knows of some websites that I could learn more about this, or has a basic run-down of costs and a quick summary of commitment to this FF. Please include that here.

I have always wanted to race with either my S2000 or a Kit Cobra or something like this FF. Currently racing at these Solo II events is becoming less and less challenging (been to at least 50 events).

Thanks

Not sure where you live, but I would suggest looking into a track event. You can drive your S2000 and the speeds are much higher since you're on a real track as opposed to an auto-x course.

Google SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). All kinds of stuff. A lot of fun, too. Tends to be regional, so you might have to dig to find a local/regional club.
