The warning chimes have stopped working in my 2004 Honda Civic. Have left the lights on several times and drained the battery and have left keys in ignition as well. Any ideas how to fix this without expensive diagnostic test?
Took off the rubber covered door open/closed sensor on the door. If the sensor always sees the door as open (in our case because it was pushed into the hole it sits in) the dome lights stop coming on and the chime stops working. I reseated ours correctly and everything started working normally.

I concur with the above post. This was my problem with our Civic also. Took off the rubber covering on the door switch, and worked the switch in & out to remove the stickiness. Worked fine after that.

Well, make sure you turn off your headlights, and don't leave the keys in the ignition - problem solved!
