So... today i'm driving home and I decide I'll open it up and my vtec kicks in, cuts out, kicks back in at half power, and then just kinda goes between the full open vtec sound and and a non vtec sound I'm not sure what it is. I have dc headers, a stright pipe, and apexi N1 exhaust so I really know what it should sound like and it didn't sound good. Hope someone can help

yup darn sure my drive home is kinda long. but yeah i just went and tried it again and fist gear vtec engaged fine then second gear it did it.

Check oil level.

As an explination, your vtec is oil pressure activated.
If your oil levels are low, your vtec may have problems engaging.

Check the oil.....or if it needs changing do that, check plugs and wires.
