Although I suspect this will be a 5 seat wagon, I'm ok with a 5 + 2 seating arrangement if that is what is in store.
There has been a lot of discussion regarding a small third row being worthless but I think it has its place. This vechicle is supposed to fit in between the 'V and the Pilot and since the 'V has no third row and the third row in the Pilot is close to Odyssey territory size wise, a small bench for ocassional use could make sense.
Case in point. My wife and I have 3 kids - all in car seats. My wife is a stay at home mom for the near future. We have a '06 Odyssey to haul everyone around. We have an old Miata from before kids that we have managed to keep but is used only in the summer. For a commuter car, I have a '03 Accord sedan (4C, 5MT).
I'm excited about this car because I need a car large enough for the family (although our super-safe car seats don't all fit in Accord, at least for now - but my oldest will be in a booster seat soon enough) but small enough to be a resonable solution for the 95% of the time that I drive by myself. So we don't need another Ody or a Pilot. A 'V is about the same size (reat seat width) as the Accord but we had one before the third kid and I don't need AWD or want an automatic. (Our '04 'V was a manual.) Plus, while our 'V wasn't bad for an SUV - about 24-26 MPG. My Accord is much better; about 30-34 MPG, up to 38 MPG with light hyper-mile-ling.
So if this is sized similar to an Accord wagon, with a small third row for the rare occasion that we would need it, I am really interested. If this vehicle comes with the 4C/5MT/FWD power train of the current Accord, third row or not, I'm going to own one.
