Let's face it; the gtr is out, the zr1 is out, etc... Honda is already late on the production of the nsx. Rather than rush a product just to compete with other supercars, I would rather them just cancel the plans and wait through this sluggish economy. Even an s2000 successor is too late in the books. The 370z is almost out, and it's damn impressive I must say. The mx5 also has a nice aggressive facelift and comes out this spring (kind of looks like an s2k front end). I like honda's decision on this one. They need to reassess the company and make smart decisions. Besides, a v10 based honda should have already came out years ago if it were to be produced. Gas prices are under a dollar FOR NOW, but just wait and see when things become more stabalized. Making lightweight small cars is really the way to go. Just my two cents: the new nsx mule, concept, whatever you call it is ugly as hell. To me, there is no car in the world that looks as sexy as the '04 imola orange targa nsx. It would take a great deal of effort to impress me with any sh*t the've recently drawn up.

"under a dollar FOR NOW..."
oops, I meant $2. I wish it was under a dollar :)

I agree about the '04 NIOP NSX-T! It should have become a timeless classic in the mould of the 911.
I'd like to have seen how damned impressive the GT5000 would have been, though. Even if it was the wrong car under the wrong brand at the wrong time...

It's too bad that the Honda enthusiast-engineers who've poured their souls into the NSX and Formula 1 cars will see those efforts come to naught. They are special people, indeed, and I salute them.
Hopefully the CR-Z doesn't also fall victim to Honda's cutbacks and the sub-$2 gas prices. A kick-ass coupe that just happens to get 50 mpg seems to make sense even if gas prices are low (assuming it doesn't cost too much, of course).

I'm sure Honda didn't come to this decision lightly. Much time and money was spent on the development of this car. Tough times...tough decisions.

The crz will come to light by the end of 2010, as stated in the article. I'm hoping it's decently zippy, however being a hybrid, we shall see.

I also like Hondas' decision on this one. Yes, it sucks they cancelled the NSX, definitely my favorite car of all time, however, they must make some tough decisions during these hard times. Honda makes a lot of good decisions, not all of them of course, but I have faith in this one. Hopefully the economy picks up soon and Honda re-opens the plans for this car and make it better than we ever expected it to be.
