2005 Acura RSX Type S. over 5500 RPM while accelerating. Anyone else have this, or know what causes it? It happened over a year ago after the dealer adjusted a heat shield bushing that was vibrating. Everyone says there is no connection between the two events, but no mechanic knows precisely where to start looking.

hey, you should be happy. Some people pay big bucks to have this "feature" on their cars. WOOO WOOOH!!
Did you get it serviced at Bubb Rubb Acura, by chance?
sorry, couldn't resist.
joking aside, it could possibly something that got lodged in the intake tract. maybe try revving the engine with the hood up while standing beside the car and see if you can localize the source of the sound.

If your heatshield repair involved removing or disassembling the exhaust system at any point, it's possible a gasket shifted or tore, which I imagine
could lead to some form of whistling.
Beyond that, I don't know what else to tell you. The exhaust is a simple system -- it's just a few segments of tubing.
