Maybe only the JDM is going to get those options or whatever but - A Fit with a CVT, Navi, and Auto A/C? Plus the fact that it's a new design, and cars in general get more expensive as we go along....How much crap can they stick in a Fit and keep it under $17,000?! It seems that's the Magic number to be considered an "affordable" Car these days.

Let's not forget AWD, a Sky Roof, keyless access/start, HID headlights, LED taillights and more. The small car segment is popular in Japan, and all these features are necessary to stay competitive. However in North America we won't see a single one of these, except possibly the CVT. I expect only a modest increase in price over the outgoing model (well under $1000).

Europe is the same way...you can get "little" cars with premium features like auto A/C, premium sound systems, etc. b/c of the price of gas and taxes on high displacement engines keeps people in smaller cars. I'd like to see that more in the US. I'd be willing to pay upto 20k for a small car loaded up with tech option goodies.

Yeah, I'd love to see more sub-compacts with high end luxury amenities and features. The only one that comes close in this country is the Mini, and I would never consider one due to the poor reliability of the previous, as well as the current model. I would happily pay 20k+ for a Fit loaded with Navigation, panoramic sun roof, HID, LED tail lights, premium sound system, etc. However, I'm assuming that won't happen for North America. I just need a car that gets excellent mileage, has good reliability, and has some nice features. I hope that the 09' CR-Z fits the bill.

My personal guess is that the NA-market Fit will switch to the CVT, but only two of the options on the JDM Fit--the navigation system and (maybe) the glass sunroof--will be available. The NA-market navigation system will probably become part of the car stereo, and will include a truly reliable iPod controller, too.

This is where the Acura CSX should have been positioned in the US. I can understand acura dropping the RSX as the sedan went out with the 3rd Gen integra but an addition of the CSX with about 170hp but more luxury around the Si's price range would be a decent addition. especaily with the bmw 1 series and other entry level luxury cars heading our way. I could even see putting a non turboed K23 or a K24 for more comfortable driving (but I'm guessing it wouldn't fit) As far as navigation is concerned, Navi costs have dropped drastically (except for Factory systems) and i'm hoping the factory systems follow the trend soon. A Decent aftermarket Navi is only around $700 so dropping something into the Fit makes sense for the "techie" crowd.
