Even though I would love to see a Fit Si (OMG Honda, please consider!), I think what is more important for the Fit here in the U.S. is more production!
Seriously, this car is selling all that is being produced right now and I don't know if this is intentional but it's causing the prices to be pretty ridiculous. I was looking on cars.com to see the price of some used Fits and it's being sold at more than what a new one would cost!
So ultimately IMO Honda needs to focus on upping the production of these sweet little cars.

The Fit is great. An Si would be awesome and I would totally buy one, but it might cost A LOT! Maybe Fit Sport will have a performance package. Like K20A2 and high flow exhaust.
I would doubt this, but the more realistic, THE FIT NEEDS MORE HP AND TORQUE! At least 140-150.

Its kinda sad that a Honda engine has nop top end pull. From many reviews the Fits engine lacks the traditional Honda top end.

The fit is in its 4th-5th year in Europe. 1-2 year in NA. Honda gave it to NA to introduce it.
Expect an all new Fit next year wiht much more supply.

actually instead of more power in that tiny little car, how about better gas mileage?
they just said on this thread that we wont recieve a new fit for a few more years. I wonder how they will manage to produce two generations of a vehicle on one assembly line?
They could re-tool the fit line in Japan for the new generation, and setup a new line in NA with the old fit, but how cost effective is that?

In my humble opinion, I expect the 2009 Honda Fit--essentially the second-generation model--to come from the new Greensburg, IN assembly line now under construction. It will probably be almost the same length as the current Fit but a bit wider (up to 1695 mm) to better accommodate American-sized passengers and for better side-impact safety. I do see a new 1.5-liter I-4 with an SOHC Advanced VTEC valvetrain, which will bump up the engine power to around 120 bhp with 7-10% better fuel economy than the current L15A VTEC engine. Transmission choices will be 6MT manual and either a new 6AT automatic or CVT automatic.

Would an R15 be feasible? Said R15 by itself would prolly get 120hp and w/Avtec prolly 130hp.

Ummm Japan has the CVT with 7 speed Auto. =P Pretty cool. But 120-130HP is great. I really liked how the Fit comes packed with so much features too. So keep that.
A suggestion for Honda. Please make the back seat fold back too. So for long trips, people can lay flat. Thats all. Keep the cupholders. I really like that.
