Maybe I'm reading in to this too much, but the phrasing confuses me...

rear-wheel-drive based version of Acura's exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive(TM) (SH-AWD(TM)).

Does this mean it's not really AWD, but a rear drive car that can transfer power between the rear wheels (left to right), or is it a SHAWD that is more biased to the rear wheels?

It means that it's an AWD. But I think that it's not just SHAWD (that we have in RL/RDX/MDX) biased to rear wheels. I think it's a whole new SHAWD system that was designed for RWD bias.

Look at the car & think logically; The lump hump is aft of the axle & V10s are difficult to package transversely.

The driveline must resemble say, the Skyline or the BMW X...

I think that Honda might have a less inefficient transaxle instead of an inefficient gearbox & transfer case.

Anyway, most of the SH-AWD is in the rear diff casing as of now.

I personally think that the rumour I posted from Japan was true, and it was maybe my mistake to say FR+SH-AWD.
What I wanted to say is that the system will be FR but use the rear differential in the rear axle, in order to have something that should be called "SH-RWD".

We'll see, but this is an FR car, not an AWD one. Rear-wheel drive version and front engined means exactly that, and it's written plain clear in the press-release.

Yeah, I'm guessing it will be able to handle oversteer like the SH-Prelude handled understeer.

Don't read into it too much or misread the press released. It's an SH-All Wheel Drive system. What's new is that it's a rear drive based version, as opposed to current incarnations of SH-AWD which are essentially front wheel drivetrains with takeoff shafts sending power to a rear differential, IOW "front-biased" AWD. This is rear-biased AWD. Torque starts off going to the rear and is apportioned forward as needed, much like Nissan's current system.

...with one important difference - the Nissan merely clutches in excess power to the front wheels, which is not an ideal solution.

Hopefully the ASCC will have permanent 4WD, with a strong rear bias. The SH system will then vary the drive to the rear wheels accordingly, or shift more torque forwards as required.
