OK, it's not a Ford Fairlane.
If this is a Honda, what's up with the styling? After the Gen 3 CRV came out I was expecting the new Crossover to be less truckish, instead they take a step backwards? I see the Ridgeline styling cues as others mentioned in the other Forum but also many Gen 2 CRV and Element styling cues.
Also if this is intended to fit between thte CRV and Pilot and seat 7, why does the engine compartment look like its only big enough for a 4cyl?

read the link to the earlier news item. This vehicle is said to be SMALLER than the CR-V. This is not a US market vehicle - it's for the Japanese market (and possibly europe if it is intended to replace the HR-V).

OK, it's JDM only so that explains the 4cyl only engine compartment but what about the been-there styling. This looks like it could have been designed alongisde the Ridgeline, Gen 2 CRV and Element all of which were designed at least 4 years ago. It almost looks like a 'parts-bin' styling effort.

That is fairly typical JDM boxy van styling....it'll be a hit!

I'm trying to figure out why the styling looks so.....1995? Even if it is designed to be smaller than the CR-V, this vehicle looks a bit outdated.

I like it.
But that 3 bar grill is a rip off from Ford.

The 3 bar grill is not rip off from Ford. This is Japan vehicle idiots. Go to the Japan Honda website and you will see the Honda Mobilo Spike / That's was using a 3 bar grill years ago.
Also... the styling is not from 1995 and it is on par with current CR-V bumper and Ridgeline.
Let me give you a little insight to Honda styling.... It suppose to look like a family! Plus, Honda uses old styling cues from time to time to give a refined look. Honda enables you to see past designs intergrated with new ones.

I see where you're coming from but using old styling cues usually works when you skip generations (retro) or continue from previous generation. From what little we know this is supposedly an all-new model (possibly a follow-up to HR-V) and I see a lot of borrowed 'family' styling cues but nothing really new or cutting edge that would help to define the model and set it apart.

Isn't the current Euro HR-V fairly new?
Isn't this also the Edix in Japan?
The HR-V/Edix seems more modern than the vehicle in the spy shots. If this is the new HR-V its going in a very different direction than the current one. It does have a 3 bar grill though. This looks more like an Element replacement than a new HR-V.

Those pics are the FR-V/Edix. A 2 row 6-passenger vehicle. The HR-V is completely different and has not been refreshed in a while.

It is the all new Honda CR-E! It is when an Element rear-ends a CR-V.

-> FYI, this is the HR-V:
^ I like the HR-V, I've seen the 5-door model in person back in the Philippines back in March 2000, it has the same interior volume as the last-gen RAV4. It has the very same aura of a Subie Forester but taller.

Jeff u opend up a can of worms on this one.
You know what I think. I think it's a Goverment Plot to fool us to think cars from Japan are going to turn into toasters and if we buy them we will all be TOAST AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! (sounds like a sponge bob epasode) And the guy who designed it, is the last guy alive who knows who killed JFK, where all the 70mpg carborators are that the big 3 & big oil stashed in the late 50's, switched Bush at birth with Howdy Doody and the Leader of Iran is really one of the area 51 survivers. I"M JOKING GUYS!
Geez, everyone just breath and calm down! it's not coming here, we will never see it, and if by chance it does cross the pond, it will sell like everything else Honda makes.

Honda knows these little matchbox vehicles will not sell in Europe and North Americia, so in its forward thinking vision, it is preparing models for the China market. Look at the headlights, the size, the motor and the styling, all made to appeal to the unassuming Chinese consumer. Futher evidence as to where Honda is heading.

I have not seen not one single FIT here on Long Island NY. So who's buying the fit? Maybe they are more practical around college campuses.

I see them daily around here (Atlanta metro). In multiples. They seem to be pretty popular around here considering their limited availability.

Given the sales numbers (compared to Yaris and Versa anyway), I am actually surprised to see as many Fits on the road as I do here in Dallas area. In fact, I have seen only one Yaris hatchback and two Versas on the road but countless Fits (and none at the Honda dealership lot I just visited).

Who on Long Island would drive a Fit? Hit the subway.
There are plenty of Fits in LA. And not everyone use the subway cause they don't go everywhere.
