I have a 00 civic Si and i recently took my car on a roundtrip of about 400 miles over the weekend...yesterday I started hearing a new sound which is really bothering me, its almost making like a whistle/almost chirp like sound, i've never heard this until now when i had the windows rolled down and i drive w/ them down all the time so i know what my car normally sounds like...its not the humming sound from my intake because this is completely different sounding from that...asked a few ppl here and they said it could be a vaccum hose...but not sure...anyone have ideas possibly?

also my car isnt acting any different than normal other than just that new sound, so just want to see what you guys think before i have to take it in a shop or if its something that can be fixed w/out going to the shop

ALSO- the sound goes away when the brakes are being pressed on....

change your brake pads. thats an indicator that they're worn out.
