Hi Bern ! Thanks for the support on the purchase.
I agree that we can't "predict" what's the next move ( where car dealers are concerned ) ,
but wow ! ,thanks Spyder for the compiled list of goodies - its got the important HIDs and plus wiper-speed control - which I found v useful in my previous Ford Laser when rain conditions change.
The 1.8G looks great -value-for-money !
Once again Bern , thanks for your well-wishes on my trip ! But you won't believe it ! Our flight was cancelled because of the typhoon. Managed to take the next stand-in flight the next day , so the short holiday became even shorter, and very hectic , but very, very fun still !
Didn't really spot the 8G much there ( in that short time, I didn't spot any ! ), but a no. of 7Gs were seen esp on HK island.

Any updates on when the full review of the 8G Civic would come out? I'm especially interested in the technical article/s about the new R-series SOHC i-VTEC engine and the changes in the K20A engine in the 8G compared to that in the 7G that would explain the differences in HP & TQ peaks. TIA.

I myself have gotten EMBARASSED of constantly asking you guys to wait, wait and wait so I have been quietly working on the article the past couple of days. The first draft is almost done and I should have it up by end of this weekend. It'll be on the K20Z however as I have not started work on the R18A yet. It's quite a short article really as it's based on the technical presentation given by Honda during the 8G Civic test drive event and they didn't give a lot of details. Still, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what's in the K20Z over the K20A (relative to the Civic 2.0 of course).
OK, better shut up and get back to work again. :)

The article is up at TOVA now.
It is probably below the usual TOVA quality - I did quite a rush job on it as I am really way too embarassed with the constant postphonement of this article. Apologies for that but I hope the important messages gets across. Honda seemed proud of what they have done with the K20Z as compared to the K20A on the ET1 and I think they are justified in that aspect (though not for the hard core enthusiasts of course).
Next on the list will be a similar one for the R18A engine. Then an explanation of the new i-VTEC mechanism as used on the R18A. Hope not to postphone too much this time round.
