I have to say I have never used a Honda Trimmer, I do Own a Snowthrower 928 with the automatic tranny and trac's and absolutely love it. Same with my integra been very good to me...But I must say if you want a good trimmer buy a trimmer from a company like Stihl or Echo. I have had my 2 cycle Echo near 10 years, beside the yearly tune up which takes 5 minutes the unit runs strong and sees nearly 500 hr each season. It has been dropped, kicked and even run over by a Ford 250 superduty and it sprung right back into action. Not to dis on Honda but if you are buying out door power equiptment buy it from a manufactuer that specializes in it, if you are buying a car buy a Honda.

I can't agree with you. I've used quite a few mowers from the "specialist" companies.
Then I decided to splurge and buy a Honda mower. Now I will probably not consider another brand. It was that much better. Low maintenance, easy to handle, it was slightly quieter and less vibration. Way better.
You know how you get a new car, then notice all the other drivers in the same car? That's like that with the Honda mower. I started looking around, and I realized that (gut feel) 99% of all the guys who mow and maintain lawns for a living use a Honda mower.
I've been looking for the past 5 years, both in Canada & California. Drive by somebody who has been paid to do somebody's lawn or the public areas, chances are, they're using a Honda.
I know they're not cheaper, so you should really wonder why the people who do it for a living, and have to fork out their own cash, drive a Honda.

Thats not true for around here (Cincinnati), I worked for a Mowing service when I was younger, we used John Deere, Toro, and Snapper. i would have to say Snapper gave the best quality cut. Now as far as reliability the John Deere push mowers and toro's were about equal. I have to say, never used a Honda Mower. The money isnt a big issue, if you compare commercial mowers next to the honda's you'll find that they are similar in price comparison. You can't compare residential..which you find at Home Depot. I will have to try the Honda Mower tho, thanks for getting me thinking about it

...what about Honda Roto-tillers? Specifically the one marked: Harmony FG-100A.
...got one NIB and if I ever quit drinking beer and lazing around, I reckon I'll use it.
.....just curious what to expect..........

A bit lazy off the line, with just enough torque. You may have to slip the clutch a bit.
However, once you hit the midrange it will come on its own and will buzz towards redline as if it had no mass. It will also run forever at redline eating up those tree roots and small rocks in the way.
If you hit a big rock, the parts used to be more expensive, but with production in the US, they have reached parity with John Deere.
It's also light, a miser on regurlar gas and will not leave you gagging on its exhaust. It may, however, use a bit of oil during its first 100 hours of use, so you might want to keep an eye on the oil tank and change the oil filter after 150 hours (with an OEM Honda filter of course).
Some users have reported that a change to Mobil 1 after 300 hours gives them a faster rev. I dunno, we go by the book.
The downside is that the body work is a bit boring.
