89 Legend : Dash Charging Light On - Help! (Score: 1, Normal)

I recently had some work done on the cooling system and had a CD player installed. I got the Legend up to freeway speed, heard a noise and pulled over. I found a wire loose near the front right drive shaft. The Dash Charging light came on and the "Anti-lock" light. The power steering became increasing stiff as I drove home.

Also, the cooling problem was not fixed. The fan works for the A/C but not for normal enging cooling purposes.

Any suggestions? Green

Sounds like your crank pulley may be loose or the belts are slipping.

I would just say your alternator's going bad but if the P/S was affected too it's probably a drive belt issue.

Not sure what the wire is...can you link to a picture?

The condenser fan is for the A/C the cooling fan is independant and without knowing what you did when you "did some work" on the system, I wouldn't know where to start....coolant temp sensor? fan switch?
