I will be ordering an 07 Si sometime in September and I will add HFP Wheels and Summer tires. I also am seriously considering the Aspec suspension w/the 1" drop.

Given that: What size wheels and tires should I get, 17s or 18s? Caveat: I have serious ortho problems, but am driving an 04 TL with Ultra High Performance tires and its ride is the same as the stock Si over the same roads I travel a lot.

1.Should I get the suspension, given my ortho problems; and what size tires/wheels(17s or 18s);

2. Should I get only the wheels/tires in which size? or

3. Should I leave it stock?

4. Please explain your reasons for your recommendations. Thanks

Well know one knows better than you wheather you will be able to handle the ride or not. It will be a bit rougher than the stock set up, bumps will not be traveled over as smoothly. When I rode in the dealers 06 SI, I thought it felt like my 99 SI in terms of roughness, a world apart from the 06. Maybe if you know some one with a EK9 Civic you could take a ride with them and decide from there. For the rims I say go with the 18" just for looks, it will work fine with the HFP suspension since the kit does come with 18s.

Guess not. I'll buy the 17" HFP wheels and Sport exhaust from CH Honda in Ohio and have my dealer install them to get a 3 year 36,000 miles warranty. Sell the OE wheels, keep the OE exhaust in case I don't like the Sport and sell it. The Pilot Exalto summer tires are good, so they stay. If I need all seasons, Kumho has some that fit and are good handlers and cost $83 each. I could use them for 2-3 months of the year if we have colder winters. They should last 4-5 years using them only a part of the year.

If I change out the suspension in a few years, I'll buy the Koni Sport pkg, guaranteed for as long as I own the car. Problem solved, I just needed to think it through. Waiting until Novemember is hard, I'm used to immediate gratification. The pieces are falling into place, so I can be an adult about this purchase.
