Im really torn right now about whether or not I want to put an A-Spec suspension on my 06 Type-S this summer. Im really worried about the reduced ride height being an issue over speed bumps and in snow. I however really would like the improved handling. But im not sure if this is going to be a legitemate issue. If anyone has experience with these issues as they relate to the A-Spec suspension it would be much appreciated.

Oh, don't worry about scraping ANYTHING with the 1" drop suspension. I have an 05 A-Spec and I dont' scrape anything on the car, although I still enter driveways and approach speed bumps deliberately and s-l-o-w-l-y.
The ride is just a little stiffer than stock, so as the suspension is considered stiff, it still isn't rock-hard, but the handling is exceptional, with zero roll during normal driving.
One caveat I have for you is the problematic strut creaking or clunking. I can't tell you how many times I had the struts replaced for this issue, (coincidentally, I am bringing my car to the dealer tomorrow for this issue yet again.) and it's so frustrating that I just might say the hell with these struts and get those Mugens I keep hearing about. It is so un-Honda-like for a defect like this to be so persistent.

I had a wierd creaking the first week I had the car and they put what think they called cone silencers on it and the noise stopped. Do you know if this really common? Would it reappear with the application of the A-Spec?

Do I know if what is common?...the creaking or the cone silencers? I had creaking or knocking sounds coming from both the stock struts and the A-Spec. I printed out a TSB on how to fix the noise by bending certain corners of the seats that the springs sit on. The springs are apparently rubbing on the metal seats. What a stupid design.

You shouldn't have any issues. The ride height reduction (for ALL A-Spec kits) is 3/4". I've never encountered a problem with my car. The handling benefits are great and it actually absorbs larger impacts better than the stock suspension.

Actually I meant both. I don't know what cone silencers are. I also was curious how many other people have experienced this problem? I really want to know if it might recur withe the A- Spec application?

I've read many a disgruntled 05+ RSX owner posts regarding this specific strut noise problem. Since I'm experiencing it with my A-Spec struts (which have been replaced a number of times, not just once) then it would be safe to expect that you would have these issues too.

Just an update...my car is at the dealer now getting the noise fixed. The advisor told me that they have 2 ways of fixing the noises without replacing the strut.
1. They wrap the spring with a rubber sleeve thereby eliminating the metal-to-metal rubbing between the spring and spring seat.
2. They can bend certain sections of the seat where the spring is rubbing it.
Right now he said that both my front springs already have the rubber sleeve, so they are doing step 2 which is bending the seat.

Oh does anyone know how much I would be looking at if I were to just buy the suspension and have it done by my dealer?

Mine was $600+shipping. Not sure how much install would cost.

Hey Guys!!! I'm looking for a 2005+ rsx type-s stock suspension kit for my 2002 type-s. If one of you still have it and wants to sell it, let me know...
Thanks, Vince

Will it Fit???

My Acura dealer told me that it will fit because i have the big holes in my hubs... only the first 300 of the 2002 type-s have the little holes. They check it with my serial number, and it's ok because i have a number over 300...as serial number. I want a 2005+ suspension because it's less '' rebounding'' than the 2002-04 was. The ride seems smoother, the shocks are improved/stronger and the car is better balanced.
