No way really. Wow that sucks i am only seventeen and have had superbikes since i could drive and have been in the import car scene for two years, i had an older civic and now i have a 2000 gs-r teg and i want it to be a serious street car.
I was hoping three hundred horse would be obtainable.
Thanks anyway.

you could certainly build a 300hp B18C, it has been done countless times. did those engines live for long as daily drivers? i seriously doubt it. would i attempt to do it with my daily driver? no.
remember that you are talking about doubling the factory output of that motor. do you really think the block, drive train, or any of the moving parts for that matter were engineered to support what you propose on a daily basis?
c'mon people, let's think some of these things through!

on secomd thought, any seventeen year old who's already owned multiple super bikes and drives a gs-r newer than mine (i'm thirty) obviously has plenty of dad's disposable income to play with.
go ahead.. blow 'er up!!!

Ok firstly, lets get something straight both my parents are dead and i live on my own as an adult and don't have "daddy's" money to blow on a car everything i have i have worked for. Secondly where i live i am constantly menaced by guy's in there 285whp mustangs, saying that honda and acura are crap and shouldn't be road worthy, the only reason i wanted to know is becuase i was hoping that some one would send me in the right direction. So that hopefully one day soon i could blow their godamn doors off and shut them the hell up.
But what i get in return is someone telling me what they think I am and they don't even know me. I don't think that in any way it is my fualt that i work my ass off and are able to drive a respectable car. Thanks anyway..!!!

Well, outside of whatever other issues are being discussed here, yes, a 300 whp street B18C is quite possible.
I've dyno'd several turbo'd B-series engines. On pump gas they produce well over 300 whp and on race gas, over 400 whp.
With a properly built bottom end (that would mean a sleeved block, new rods/pistons) you could run a 2.0 liter B-series (might as well since you're buying new pistons and sleeving the block anyway). With mild cams and the right sized turbo 300 whp would take less than 10-12 psi - you could run forever on such a setup with minimal to zero reliability issues.
Total cost on such a setup is not insignificant though. The engine work will cost you $2-2.5K in parts, and another $1k+ in labor. The turbo kit with all the essentials (turbo timer, boost controller, etc.) will run you another $4k or so. And then you'll need a decent engine control system - at a minimum a Hondata, so another $1k there. Then plan on spending another $1k on setup, tuning, etc. So, there's an easy $8k-$10k in the whole shebang. In return though, you'll get a very strong engine that will be capable of running 12's on pump gas in your typical FWD Honda and 11's on race gas. If you put it in a lightweight chassis, 10's would be in reach on race gas.
Oh, this would not be an emissions legal setup :-)

Firstly,to hardrevingboi I'm not saying that he was wrong for what he said but i do know that he doesn't know me and you would think that someone who's been into imports for twelve years like that guy has he would be happy to help people that are new to the scene. I work three jobs by the way and i rent a cheap house where i live. I'm sorry if i affended you by what i said but i was just making a point and defending my self.
Secondly, notyper, thanks for the great info i would like to hear anything more about any other possibility's.
Thanx.

hey, i will be the first to say that if my comments offended, i apologize. i am certainly not above admitting fault if i am wrong. i guess sometimes i do tend to slip into grizzled-old-sarcastic-bastard mode rather easily. believe it or not, i would prefer to make a friend rather than enemy in this scene. again, i apologize. sorry about your parents. no hard feelings?
and to make my point with a little less sarcasm...
since you've mentioned the amount of hours you have to work to suuport your passion in your car, consider all the money notyper mentioned needing to do the build-up. my point is: do you want to spend all that money turning your hard earned daily driver into a salvage piece if one critical step is forgotten or poorly executed in the quest for your 300hp daily driver? not worth the risk to me.
i have no doubt knowledable people like s.c. and others who frequent this site know others and are themselves highly capable of producing a highly tuned-reliable car, but so many "tuners" out there are less knowledgable than you and i (and i'm no engine builder) but will gladly take your money to do nothing more than trash your engeine in return.
be careful! good luck!
