Hi ..im about to do an oil change pretty soon and i wanted to know what weight is best for my car...2000 civic si ....im from sacramento so its pretty warm out here, if that helps at all...thanks

I vote for always sticking with the manufacturer rating.

If memory serves, the B16A requires 5W-30 year round, or 10W-30 in extreme tempuratures or continuous high speed driving. I'd put in 5W-30: you'll get a few more HP, quicker oil pressure on cold starts, and better gas mileage.

I agree! I would also use Mobil 1 5W-30 if you use your car for more than just grocery shopping. I have found that it lasts a bit longer (an extra 500-1,000 miles) than conventional oil and it keeps the engine a bit cleaner. Of course the cost is about 3 times the amount but it gives me peace of mind.
