It sounds like he could have just meant "i-vtec" by "next generation of vtec", and that the V6 engines in the Accord would be getting that.

What I meant is that it doesn't explicitly say "new" or otherwise imply that the technology isn't available today.

On the other hand, Honda does seem to have a habit for constant innovation.

Perhaps i-VTEC, direct injection and variable cylinder management?

its been done on the diesels, so it wouldnt suprise me. Usally just switching to direct injection will make efficency gains of 10%

Mabye we will see a v6 that can get better than 20mpg. Mabye even 30mpg...
