Hai honda fans...
Just a couple of quick question...
I am going to have an engine swap with JDM B18C into a honda civic coupe 98 model Vti (EX)....
1) i am thinking of buying an aftermarket header, but should i buy the B18C header a.k.a. integra header.
2. If i buy the B18C header will it fit the existing piping of my honda civic engine?
3. Finally if i am thinking of getting an overhaul on the cat back system, should i buy an integra cat back system or honda civic type r cat-back system?
I am really confused by all this... those who had done the same could you kindly help me...
Many thks

I know in the eg 's the header from a B18C won't fit right, but a B16a header does fit. Also the exhaust from a hatchback won't fit right on a coupe.

Thank you for your reply...
So i need to get a B16A header to connect the B18C engine and the existing Honda civic Vti EX exhaust system?
am i right?

The B18C block is taller than the B16A. As a result, you won't be able to use a B16A header on the B18C without some clearance issues.
The exhaust pipe lengths for Civic Type R (a hatchback), the Civic Coupe (your car) and the Integra are all different (since the cars are of different lengths). However, the only real difference is from the axle-back. So you could use a mid-pipe a.k.a. B-pipe from any of the other cars -- but the flanges need to match. (The B-pipe is after the cat but before the muffler).
Also, some headers are of different lengths, same with cats. These are all considerations. It's very hard to find a true bolt-on setup since these things can vary from year to year. Any exhaust shop will be able to make it all fit.

So what kind of combination would you recommend interms of headers+ complete cat back systems.
I am thinking of getting a DC Sports header(4-2-1)..not sure to take an integra or for civic and custom made mandrel piping from a local shop.. i do have spoon muffler already...
also about the different height of b18c and b16... would there be any problem fitting in?
finally would you think i should change the ecu or do bolt on stuff first to maximise the b18c potential...
PS: is there any different between USDM b18c and JDM b18c except for the HP (correct me if i am wrong abt the HP)?
Many thks for the feedback..

I'd upgarde the exhaust system at the same time. Just a suggestion.

I am thinking of upgrading the exhaust system, the only problem is i am not sure what type of header i shoud use. A b18 or b16....

b18C header. Doesn't a stock one come with the engine? U could upgrade the exhaust first and run the stock header. Opting to to the headers later.
Once the shop has matched the exhaust piping to the stock B18C headers, any brand of headers meant for the B18C should fit without further mods.
If budget allows then upgrade everything in one go.

From personal exp. A B16 header will bolt directly to the head of a B18C( and b20) and to the stock exhaust of your car stock and aftermarket
