Test drove 2 base model RSX's yesterday at the dealership. One had 300 miles. The other had 3K miles. Both were auto's. Both had bad engine vibration in gas pedal when engine was near 3K rpm's. I don't see how anyone could live with this from a car with the Acura nameplate!!!!!

Just because of a vibration in the gas pedal...? It cant be that bad.

It is that bad. I'm 34 years old and have driven LOTS of cars throughout my life. The vibration in the pedal comes on at about 2800K rpm and goes away at about 4K. It feels like one of those foot massaging things at Brookstone/Sharper Image. I WANTED to like the RSX, but for 2 out of 2 samples to have the same exact issue has got to more than coincedence. Maybe the engine in the S type isn't as "buzzy" as the base model, but that's no excuse for the cars I drove to bear the name "Acura" :(

I've driven a few pre-05 AT base models and never noticed this phenom and certainly don't notice it in my '02 Type-S. I'd mention it to the dealer to see if it is a defect (possible if they are from a closely produced VIN range) and try a different/repaired sample. Seems like a silly problem to ignore an entire vehicle.

My focus did this bad, it is well known and has been noted in magazine articles. The focus does it AT or MT in any gear at any RPM if the throttle is right. It never bothered me all that much.

I've driven 3 RSXes and never had any of them do this.

No way these engines are buzzy compared to what's out there. The Type S is almost unbelivably smooth compared to I-4s from other companies.

Put your non-S RSX in park, or neutral, and press on throttle slowly until you get to 4K rpm's. Your pedal has no vibrations in that range?
