I wonder why AHM hasn't mated its CNG technology with IMA yet?

The longer range afforded by IMA would help offset the short range of the CNG car.

And both technologies out together would make for a very clean running efficient powertrain.

And, IMHO, such a marriage would make more sense in the mid term than fuel cells. Laying out a CNG distribution grid should be reasonably easy and it may be a good precursor to laying out a hydrogen grid.

Besides, AHM already sells a home CNG refueling station. If the range of the car were to fall around 300 miles per tank and it could be refueled overnight at home, it would make an outstanding commuter car.

And it would be HOV approved too.

There's an article in the LA Times today about the CNG Civic. It would seem like it'd be the perfect car to go hybrid.
