Just bought a 2005 TSX and had a question on the break-in period. The manual states the break-in period to last for the first 600 miles but also specifically says that the oil should not be changed until the first scheduled service period, which is at 10,000 miles. I called the dealer who said that they would send me back out the door if I tried to take in the car for an oil change before it hits 5000 miles.
I haven't bought a new car in a long time but I thought the oil should be changed once you break the car in (in this case, at 600 miles). I'm curious as to the reason behind this if anyone can shed some light.
Also, any suggestions on properly breaking-in the car aside from what the manual says (no hard accelaration, etc)?
