I just installed some heated seats in a 2000 integra and I want to connect the relay to a 12 volt source that will shut off with the car

OK. Get a voltmeter and start poking around in the fuse box for one.

I wouldn't think so. What is the current draw from the heaters? What do the instructions recommend? Be sure to wire the seats properly, ie. - wire them from the back of the fuse box, not on the fused side.

First, always follow the manufacturer's requirements.
If you don't have the manual, here would be a decent recommendation.
For providing power to the heaters I would recommend using a fused wire at least 10 Gauge directly from the battery.
For providing power to the switch (Relay) that turns on the heaters I would recommend tapping a fused wire into the accessory wire at the ignition harness. This is a large (10) gauge Yellow (no stripes) wire coming from the key/ignition cylinder. You can tap into it anywhere from the ignition to the fuse box.
Post if this helps,

I would like to add this question if i may *****
I noticed on my 03 accord that the passenger seat looks "burnt" like a chemical had spilled or as if something hot was set on the seat. Its not to the point where the seat is rippled or cracked but the surface of the leather seems to be slighly scarred not craked but it's a different texture and is visibibly discolored. I retraced my recent week and cannot reacall spilling or putting anythong hot on the seat. I had Valet parked it once over the week end but cant seem to think a restaurant parking attendant would have the opportunity to have done this. Like I said I cannot for the life of figue out how this happened. Is it possible a malfunction at the time maybe still in the process that a wire or the e
heating elemnt in the seat could have caused this?

The seat heater of my BMW X3 did just what you described. I imagine that the heating element was too close to the seat cover, as if the seat was not properly assembled. The dealer replaced the cover under warranty, no questions asked.
