ARE YOU SMOKEN CRACK !!!!!

Honda vehicles built in the Great U.S.of A. have the same quality standards as the ones built in Japan. The American workers in the Honda plants are hard working and proud. I am not one of them, I just sell what they build and its a DAM good product! MOVE TO JAPAN!

I have been selling Hondas for 10 years at the same dealer and Toyotas for 5 years (we bought a toyota dealer that was accross the street from our honda dealer) and I want to thank you for the great product you make for us to sell. I like selling a product I don't have to apolagize for. I have been to all the plants and the test ovel and it is an wonderful place, keep up the good work.

He's right. I've noticed defects in my American built Honda. Defects that happen on the assembly line. I believe Honda automobiles are the best on the market. However its just a FACT that the cars produced in Japan have less manufactured defects.

I Agree tottally. This is a fact jack and can be proven by statistics! You who think otherwise need to take a reality pill. Look at the TL with it's myriad nagging little problems -- all related to the indolent American worker, who cares more about wages that doing the job with 100% perfection.

I have to agree with Quelude...we have a 2002 Honda Odyssey and have been plagued with a bunch of little quirks from egr to different solenoids going. I am not sure this car will make it to 250,000 as my 94 Civic did, which was not plagued with issues like this at all. I am wary if I will buy another Honda as their QA/QC has gone downhill IMO, tremendously. The American mentality is different than their Japanese counterparts or even Canadian for that matter. And, no pun intended here, but HondaAFVM, again it is the little things that matter... case in point "SMOKEN" is spelled "Smoking" and "DAM" is spelled "Damn". Again, I reiterate it's the little things that count that set workers from different countries apart.

I guess I should have gone a little further into explaining my first statement. Let me start by saying I love everything Honda. I've had Honda flowing through my blood for as long as I can remember. If Honda doesn't make it, I don't want it and haven't owned it. I've owned pretty much everything except for the Odyssey, which I will probably be getting in the not too distant future. I can speak of personal experiences that I've seen the difference in quality between the cars made in Japan and the cars made in the United States. There are just little problems here and there. I've worked for both Honda and Acura dealerships and have seen first hand the issues with various cars. Nothing too serious, but the little things. For example, I've never come across a car brought over from Japan that had a single paint flaw in it and they never have spare screws, etc... laying on the floorboards. But I do see that with cars made in the US. Every car that I've owned that was made in Japan had ZERO problems with them. The only time they were ever in the shop were for oil changes, timing belts, etc... Never once were they in the shop for mechanical breakdowns or electrical gremlins. I would own these cars for a long time too. The least amount of miles I ever put on one was an 84 Accord that I sold with 187k miles. On the other hand for example, I have a 99 Accord that has been in the shop numerous times. The ball joints have been replaced twice. The cat was replaced (under warranty), heck, I can't even keep the stupid light bulb on the clock to stop burning out every few months. Like I said, it's just dumb little things. Honda's are still better than any other manufacturer out there and I'll be buying from them for a long time.

Hm.. not all Honda made in US are dat bad
I used to own an 1990 Accord with 230K in 1997 it still run smoothly after i changed the timing belts nothing wrong with the car just some paint problem..
After that I bought a 1993 Prelude VTEC with 86K in 2000 it was 100% imported from japan it has some problem with the radiator and the cooling system. other than that nothing serious. Last and not least now I drive a 1994 Acura Legend GS. it has 147K and it was imported from japan and until now the onli problem i got is just the wing shield spray nozzle on the passenger side other that that it drive perfectly

I know how to spell those words, did you ever hear of slang? In case you all don't know with state of the art technology, computer controled everything and building 400,000 cars in one year (accords) and the largest vehicle Honda makes (the odyssey) with state of the art engine and trans back in 99 when Ford, GM, and Chrysler had bigger engines with less H.P. RECALLS out the wazoo! Q.C. problems that sent cars and vans back to the dealer every month.
Honda is not perfect. I know this STILLETO and QUELUDE but check the latest specks on car companies ranked problems per 100 cars, Honda ranks one of the lowest about 8 or 9 problems per 100 cars. They ranked lower then Toyota with 10 or 11. The big 3 all were in the mid to high teens up to the mid 20's. Oh, BMW and Benz in the 30's. I think one of the few other car companies that were in the single digits with Honda was Lexus.
You guys hey, its not the worker most of the time its the motivation from the top its highering qualified workers not quotafied (not a word, but you get my drift) workers, I mean unions supplying unions using second rate parts, things like that.
Honda does a very good job of fixing the problems they have and its a DAM oops! ( sorry stilleto) "damn" good product that most car companies would pay millions to have the problems Honda has. Yes little things matter I know. Think about it, Honda is totally self owned one of the smallest car companies out there expanding their product line, supplying their customers with a wide variety of reliable, functional, fun and not to forget SAFEST cars on the road. With all that they are bound to have some bad tranies on a few of their V6's. Ya know an air line pilot friend said to me once "you only here about the one plane crash, never about the millions of safe take offs and landings that happen every second of EVERY day!" Honda's R&D buget is a fraction of what all the other car companies are especially the big 3 and you think Honda has problems. I would say Honda is going through growing pains the others; well you read about them everyday. You guys can go to another car company, I'm stickin (slang) with Honda. And when you figure out that the grass isn't greener on the other side, I'll slice you some cheese for your WINEing (whining I know)and get ya a Honda lawn mower to cut that grass. See Ya Later God bless and have a safe New Year.

I here you but not all Japanise Hondas are 100%. Take the 97-01 Prelude SH. They were in and out of the shop for trans problems, 03 civic hybrid trunk lid rusting after 6mos old. Del Sol rattles, leaks ect. I'm glad to read you have Honda in your blood, so do I. WAIT! does that mean we are BROTHERS! DAH-----DAH-DAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Maybe we can all plan a trip to one of the plants in Ohio and talk to someone about what we think Honda can do. I know they pay people millions to do this but hey, we're in the battle field. What do you think, maybe ELMENTAL can help us out with this. He works in one of the plants, what do you think?

I had a 1994 Accord Coupe. drove for 10 years, not one problem. Well, I did have to have a CV boot replaced at 110,000. The car had not one rattle, everything still fit perfectly, worked perfectly.
My previous car was a 1987 Acura Integra made in Japan. That car had many small problems, rattles, and trips to the service department.

If you look in the Honda of Ohio web site (www.hondaohio.com/company/tours.cfm phone # 1-888-291-8687) there should be some information concerning tours. I know we haven't had any tours lately due to 05 Element launch and Accord runs. If you can get enough people for a tour let me know so I can give you guys a human face and some insight on how we do our jobs. I've have been at Honda for almost three years, and like any organization you have people who care and some who don't. The majority of us do care because if we don't do our jobs right you won't buy our cars. We have daily meetings on quality and we have actual reports of warranty claims and what discrepancy caused the claim. These claims are back channeled to us on the line. Sometimes it is a parts issue and sometime it's associate technique. All in all we try to put out the best car we can.

thanks for the insights you have shared about working in the plant, I know most of us are very curious about those details!

If we smuggle you in the right parts, can you just build us a few type R's? ;)

I think the max amount for the tour is 30 people.
As for the Type R, can't help you there. We only build Civics(2,4drs), Accords and Elements. 2005 promises to be a good year with the 06 Civic and the CRV.
